GoGy Games Engages Thousands More Users a Day with Jeeng Push Notifications

The GoGy games platform hosts more than 2,000 free online games for desktop, web and mobile, with fun, interactive games in every category from dress-up, cooking and animal games for kids to action, sports, first-person shooter and more. Drawing between 10-12 million users each month, GoGy monetizes the platform with online ads aimed at its target audiences.

Looking to grow its user base and better engage existing users, GoGy owner Tal Hen began investigating new options. In addition to relying on Google AdWords for acquisition, Tal and his team saw big potential for push notifications to help drive ongoing user engagement.

“We looked at a couple of push providers, but they all seemed too general,” Tal said. “We wanted something that offered better targeting. I saw that Jeeng push notification platform was being leveraged by leading websites, so we decided to give it a try.”

Jeeng is new push notification solution, gives publishers a smart, simple way to deliver personalized automated push notifications to users to drive traffic back to their online properties. Based on known user profiles and online behavior, Jeeng’s machine-learning solution automatically delivers highly relevant, personalized and targeted notifications that drive user engagement. By offering monetization capabilities, Jeeng enables publishers to add new revenue streams to supplement their existing online programs.

For publishers like GoGy, Jeeng offers three key advantages:

  • Rather than send random game notifications to users, Jeeng gives GoGy the ability to send relevant game notifications to users based on their interests and what’s trending as the most popular games among the player community. This targeted personalized substantially improves user engagement.

“The ability to send the right message and most relevant notification to each user is very important,” Tal says. “They’re looking for something personalized, and the popularity of the game is also very important. They want to play what everyone’s playing and that alone has helped drive click-thru rates up substantially.”

  • With Jeeng’s automated platform, sending those notifications to users is a snap, and requires very little effort for the GoGy team. It also allows GoGy to schedule notifications in advance to send to users at a time that they’re most likely to click. Since the company is based in Israel, scheduling the notifications to deliver at the right time based on the users’ time zone is critical.

“It doesn’t require a lot of time, and the dashboard is really easy to use,” Tal said. “The fact that we can schedule notifications helps us target the right users with the right message at the right  time. Sending a notification at 10 a.m. in Israel does us no good when it gets delivered at 3 a.m. in New York and midnight in Las Vegas. We need our users to see them, so scheduling  enables us to get in front of our users when they’re actually in front of their device.”

  • Along with revenue generated from online ads, publishers can take advantage of Jeeng’s ability to monetize notifications to add an additional revenue stream. Recent data shows that over 70% of consumers subscribe to push notifications, making this a great way for publishers to increase daily traffic and diversify their engagement channels. By adding sponsored notifications, publishers can also diversify their revenue mix with virtually 100% monetization of every impression and give brand advertisers an additional channel to engage audiences.

The GoGy team has been extremely satisfied with the results they’ve seen from their Jeeng push notification program. With tens of thousands of users a day coming from notifications, a low bounce rate and long session duration, Jeeng is driving strong user engagement.

“Many of them are existing users, so it’s definitely helping us to keep them coming back,” Tal says. “And based on the combined traffic and revenue analysis, it’s absolutely worthwhile.” Right now, GoGy is only sending notifications for its most popular games, but Tal says by adding new notifications, he sees the potential for reaching even more users a day.

“It has a lot of potential and is a great way to retarget users and create a new revenue channel,” he says. “You really don’t need a lot of users to realize decent revenue from it. Plus, with very reasonable pricing, and the great support we receive — we’re looking forward to expanding our relationship with Jeeng.”
