Jeengster Spotlight: Artyom Nazginov

In this edition of “Jeengster Spotlight”, we’re excited to introduce our Product Data Analyst, Artyom Nazginov!

Artyom was born in the USSR, in the region that is now Latvia. He came to Israel in 2002 with an organization called “Naale”. It enabled young children to move to Israel without their parents. Artyom grew up at a boarding school in the north of Israel, in Kibbutz Amir. After graduating from high school, he served 3 years in the Israeli army and then attended Bar Ilan University, where he received his B.A. in Economics. Artyom worked as an economist for about 9 years before joining Jeeng in early 2021 as a Product Data Analyst.

Artyom currently lives in Haifa with his wife and a very beautiful 6-month old kitten named Simyon.

Let’s learn a bit more about Artyom!

1. What do you love most about your role at Jeeng?

My work is very diverse. I work with very smart people — and I like it. I love smart people. I’m always trying to learn from them.

2. What advice do you have for someone also interested in that type of position?

Be prepared for interesting, dynamic and intense work.

3. What are the top 4 tools you can’t live without?

  • My computer
  • A good internet connection
  • Energy drinks
  • Hard music (death metal, punk, etc.) Like, this for example:

4. What are some of your hobbies?

Hiking, hiking, hiking. I also love studying. I take courses on Coursera and I love learning about the brain, psychiatry, physics, etc. I want to understand how stuff works — I simply want knowledge. I don’t like to read books, but I do enjoy reading science articles/papers. I also like photography.

5. One piece of advice you’d give your younger self

Be more confident and open to trying new things.

6. What superpower would you choose, and why?

Teleportation. I don’t want to spend a lot of time on traveling from point A-B.

7. What’s the nerdiest thing you do in your free time?

Playing board games and video games. The Fallout series is my favorite right now.

8. What’s your favorite place you’ve ever traveled to?

Melk, Austria. It’s a beautiful place with a ton of history. Plus, there is a gorgeous library there.

9. What’s your biggest guilty pleasure & why?

Eating ice cream, but not just any ice cream. Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie is my favorite. (But I gained 8 kg in the last 6 months, so I don’t eat so much ice cream anymore…)

10. What’s your favorite book and why?

The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. It’s well-written and really explains what it was like during Soviet times. He wrote this book in the 1930’s, but it was published posthumously. It has been called one of the masterpieces of the 20th century.

11. Do you have a pet peeve?

I hate it when people make loud sounds, like when they blow their noses loudly or clear their throats. Also, nail biting. It’s so gross.

12. What’s at the top of your bucket list?

To get my pilot’s license.
