Jeengster Spotlight: Cynthia Ramos

In this edition of “Jeengster Spotlight”, we’re excited to introduce our VP Operations & Customer Success, Cynthia Ramos!

Cynthia joined Jeeng as Head of Sales Operations in mid-2021and was promoted to VP Operations & Customer Success in 2022. She’s a Scorpio, born and raised in the Bronx, and has lived her whole life in New York.

Cynthia attended St. John’s University in Queens. Initially, she studied Economics and did really well. Then, after a brief stint studying Finance, she switched her major again to Marketing and graduated with a Bs in Marketing with a concentration in Marketing Strategy. 

Cynthia is married to her high school sweetheart. They have been together for 17 years and have 2 adorable daughters. 

Let’s learn a bit more about Cynthia!

1. What do you love most about your role at Jeeng?

The people are great. Everyone is so awesome and welcoming, and it’s been a lot of fun. The second thing I love is that people are willing to listen to you if you make suggestions or if you have an idea.

2. What advice do you have for someone also interested in that type of position? 

Never stop learning. AdTech is always changing and you need to be ahead of it. 

3. Top 5 tools you can’t live without

My laptop, my phone, coffee (it is a tool!), a good concealer, and a good mascara.

4. What are some of your hobbies?

I love interior design. I’m always DIYing or rearranging furniture in my house.  I’m also into crystals and energy (I’m a certified Reiki master).

5. Favorite quote & why?

I have two favorite quotes, both from Maya Angelou:

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

  and 

 “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” 

6. One piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

I have a couple pieces of advice I would give my younger self. The first one (and this was an ‘aha’ moment when I realized it) is to remember that  life happens for you, not to you. So all the things you go through in your life – good and bad – it’s all there to form who you are and teach you lessons. Sometimes when you’re not really learning the lesson the first time, you repeat the same mistakes.

The second one is that you don’t have to be perfect all the time.  I always thought that perfectionism was striving to be my best self, but now I realize it has nothing to do with that. It’s all about approval and acceptance. And I don’t need any outside validation.

7. Superpower you’d choose & why?

The ability to speak/read any language in the world. Because communication is key!

8. Biggest guilty pleasure & why

I watch really bad TV – I am a “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” fan…

9. What’s your favorite book & why

I love audio books. I really like Michelle Obama’s “Becoming“, and I really enjoyed “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle.

10. Pet peeve that no one knows about

I hate when things are out of place or messy. It also bugs me when people leave time on the microwave and don’t reset it. But my biggest pet peeve is fake people. I can smell inauthenticity a mile away.

11. What’s at the top of your bucket list?

I want to travel and see the world. And I want to take my girls with me — they deserve to see it, too.
