Jeengster Spotlight: Rami Yohay

In this edition of the “Jeengster Spotlight” series, we’re excited to introduce one of our Senior Fullstack Developers, Rami Yohay!

Rami is from Netanya, Israel. He has been with Jeeng since February, 2020, but he has been working in the hi-tech sector since 2007. Rami got his BSc at the Ariel University in Bioinformatics (computer engineering and biology). He is married with a 5-year-old son. He says he has nothing against animals but he doesn’t have any pets.

Let’s learn a bit more about Rami!

1. What excites you the most about your role at Jeeng?

As a programmer, I love to create new things. I love learning the technology that I’m learning at Jeeng and the responsibility that I have (I’m in charge of the SLA tasks, so I fix things that need to be fixed in real-time)

2. What advice do you have for someone also interested in that type of position?

Don’t forget about your personal life. Yes, you need to work hard and give your best, but don’t forget about yourself and your family. Don’t let the job interfere with your life.

3. What are some of your hobbies?

I try to run a few times a week (but I cant say I love it…). When I was single I used to go to clubs, but not so much at anymore. But I still really like music, and I love watching TV and movies. I used to write scripts (now it’s in the drawer somewhere…maybe one day I’ll return to it and finish it). I play PlayStation (when I have time), too. I love games with stories that start off with a superficial issue, but it unravels as the main character investigates and it turns out to be a huge conspiracy.  I like reading detective stories, too

4. Favorite quote & why?

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”

― Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa

5. Superpower you’d choose & why?

Invisibility  — I want to go behind the closed doors where politicians have their meetings. I would love to know what they are actually saying behind the scenes./

6. Favorite place you’ve ever traveled to?

Thailand – I was a single guy there, and it was my first flight abroad so that gives it special meaning. The landscapes and the islands are simply amazing.

7. What’s a pet peeve that no one knows about?

I can’t stand to see the house unorganized – the dishes, my son’s toys – I need the house to be organized.

8. What’s at the top of your bucket list?

To do a coast-to-coast road trip in the USA – I’d love to just take a car with the family and drive

9. How to you manage work/life balance?

I try to finish all the little tasks first and then move on to the harder ones. So, then I can build my schedule according to when to work on what task and prioritize the tasks. I might see that some tasks can wait until the next day.  Long story short – prioritizing tasks at work is how I get that work/life balance.

10. What is your biggest accomplishment from your time at Jeeng?

We finally managed to push the email notification solution live, and it is a really important step for the company. We refactored all the notification handling which was really challenging and time-consuming. After all the hard work we’ve done, we managed to do it.

There you have it! We hope you enjoyed learning more about the people who power this company and have helped get us to where we are today: the only personalized Push & Email Messaging Platform built exclusively for publishers.
